We've recently moved into our new office space in an amazing and historic building, and have just finished kitting it out. It feels like another exciting step forward for our start-up.
Hornsey Town Hall is a Grade 2 Listed building of outstanding architectural significance. It was the first post-Victorian modern public building built in the UK and it has much art deco about it. There is a stream of TV and film production companies that flows on and off the site because it looks and feels so much like a film set.
The building used to be the headquarters of local government until it became defunct about 30 years ago. Since then it has been in decline until it became totally empty about 10 years ago. Now it has just reopened to a host of creative and start-up businesses. The atmosphere is a delicious mix of history and future, creativity, and rebirth. It's the perfect place to be building a new company.
We've slapped paint all over the place, bought the best budget office equipment that IKEA can offer, and have a new and shiny space to work in.
It is great to be here and every day I get an extra boost of energy walking into work through the entrance.
